Notes
a. Note:   HI14844
Note:   (Research):bemail from Rob Peitzman, 29 Aug 2013, to JV Leavitt:/b Hi Joseph. Thanks for the note. It's very nice to connect with relatives. Your are correct. My line is: Deacon John (b. 1608) - Moses - John - John - Noah - Jeremiah (who married Eleanor Sargent) - Joseph - Silas - Grace Leavitt Matchitt - Myrtice Matchitt Homquist - Carol Holmquist Peitzman (my mother). Silas is the one who migrated to Minnesota (born in New Hampshire). He had no sons, so the Leavitt name didn't get passed on beyond his daughters. If the information I have is correct, Eleanor Sargent's father is Samuel Sargent. One sourse lists her mother as Patty Johnson, other sources don't list her mother. Eleanor's line from Mayflower passengers John Howland and Elizabeth Tilley is: John & Elizabeth - Hope Howland Chipman - Lydia Chipman Sargent - Jonathan Sargent (m. Mary Lynde) - Jonathan Sargent (m. Deborah Richardson) - Jonathan Sargent (m. Mary Earle?) - Samual Sargent (Eleanor's father). I hope this is somehow helpful. Also, in case it's useful to you I've copied a link below that was helpful to me. As I'm sure you know there were quite a few Leavitts who fought in the Civil War via New Hampshire regiments. The link below is the index page of the "Revised Register Of The Soldiers And Sailors Of New Hampshire In The War Of The Rebellion 1861-1866", Prepared And Published By Authority Of The Legislature, By Augustus D. Ayling, Adjutant General. Concord: Ira C. Evans, Public Printer. 1895. It's probably a resource you are aware of already, but just in case you haven't checked it out yet, I thought it might be of interest to you. From the index page one can access other pages with history and lists of men who enlisted in New Hampshire regiments. My great great grandfather (Silas Wright Leavitt, who later migrated to Minnesota) fought with the 15th regiment. I don't yet know my blood relationship (if any) with other Leavitts listed in the various regiments, but I figure there may be several direct lines from those individuals to current WALF members. http://dunhamwilcox.net/nh/0-nh-civil_index.htm Best Regards, Rob
