Notes
a. Note:   http://www.boap.org/LDS/Early-Saints/SLeavitt.html !NAME:STUDEVANT OR STURTEVANT. Names: Sturtevant has other spellings of Studevant and Sturdevant Birthdate Variable: 5 Sep 1797 Listed as Sarah Levit in the 1846 temple Endowment record. Regarding baptism dates for Sarah Sturtevant and Jeremiah Leavitt II, by Anne Okerlund Leavitt (Feb 2003): Dixie and I agree that the 1833 record is not true. There is, in Kirtland Ohio Visitor's Center a computer that lists baptisms there. They have an erroneous date too. 1829, before they left Heatley, so it happens in the best of circles. The Weare family has a record of one of his daughters being baptized...I think it was Charlotte, in 1835. I think that was the year missionaries went into Canada and am willing to take Weare family word for that. I have always thought it was either Hannah or Rebecca who was the sister who first brought the literature to Sarah, and had been baptized. Sarah says of Hannah and Horace, "He had not been baptized but his wife had." (Not an accurate quote...just the way I remember it.) I am willing to accept Bill's 1837 date because we know it did occur in Kirtland. We know they left Hatley July 1837. We know they heard the prophet preach there. We know Sarah says they had had no chance to be baptized until they got to Kirtland, and I think they'd have been there by later in 1837. We asked them in Kirtland to change the date on their little display computer. They said they would, but who knows how that works. I'm more comfortable with the 1837 date. Her descendants gathered into the WALF database number 32,136 as of 11 Oct 2004. JVL
