Note:   Death Certificates from Vital Statistics and Research Office, Middlesex Office , media , Microfilm DANIEL MOODY died Feb. 8, 1857 in Stowe, Vermont Age 77, 11 mos cause of death: "Old age" *Daniel was of the Capt. Clement Moody Family which was the second family of settlers to arrive in Stowe, Vermont one day behind the first settler Oliver Luce. Daniel came to Stowe from Maine in 1800; settled on the farm later owned by son, Gilman. Moody; took Freeman's Oath, 1802. A gentleman, a Farmer, Justice of the Peace in Stowe, VT from 1815-1838; Stowe�s State Representative in 1828. Land records date 1804, but no name of seller, so is assumed his father gave him 100 acres, as it was some of the same lots that Capt.Clement Moody owned. *Golden Years Chapter: Mr and Mrs. Daniel Moody married over 50 years in Stowe, VT. Captain and Mrs. Moody married over 50 years, the only first immigrants to Stowe to live the remainder of their lives in Stowe. Only one child: Gilman Sinclair Moody who was adopted.
