Notes
a. Note:   email from Mary Elizabeth Leavitt-Guy, 8 Mar 2005: I told you I was cleaning up a paper mess. I ran across this. The information came from Carol Smith Leavitt. Her husband was decendent of Harlin, ( John Preston, Samuel). Looks like she fround it in a book or newspaper. Quote "first Conrgational Church of Volney Center, N.Y. (outside of Fulton, NY) Pastor Oliver Leavitt-1819 to1827. Mrs Eunice Leavitt created Sunday schoolin 1820. Very likely the wife of Oliver Leavitt. Congregational Union Church of Denton's Corner's, now Clifford, NY. Reverend OliverLeavitt, pastor about 1823. Mr Leavitt also performed services in verious other Congregational churches throughout the Oswego county area. Additional information taken from same history-May 3, 129, the town of Albion was formed. Joseph Leavitt elected constable. January 27,1829 Samuel Leavitt ruler elder of the First Congregation Church of Sandbank. Town of Albion. Sylvia Leavitt, wife of Samuel Leavill, first admission to the church, Feb 8, 1829. November 27, 1852, Congregational Society organized-members included Samuel Leavitt, Mary Ann Leavitt and Harriet Leavitt." Ruth further states " I think it is quite important that Oliver Leavitt accompanied the Congregational Church from Pauley,Vermont, as this would establish the fact the Leavitts were in that area." aside from Mary G. The name Ruth was the lady who found a book, The History of Oswego County . She found this in a yard sale. Who gets that lucky? Please remember Harriet Leaavitt was oldest child of John Preston and Mary Ann Wiggins. Hang in there people remember we have the (Genealogy) POX. Mary
