Notes
a. Note:   BIOGRAPHY: Info from Cooke & Early New England - [http://www.mayflowerfamilies.com/cooke/] Sarah JOHNSON (S1) (S2) (S3) was born on 19 Jul 1732. (S4) (S5) (S6) "The Johnson genealogy references: Bridgewater, Mass to 1850, 2nd edition, 1798, p. 210-212. She was baptized on 23 Jul 1732 in West Bridgewater, MA. (S7) Sarah is recalled through family notes by an individual who apparently had first hand knowledge of her, and who she called Elizabeth. See also notes for Joseph Packard, her husband. It seems fairly certain that they were long residents of Brookfield, but were no longer there by the 1790 census. The widow "Sarah Packard is later found in New Salem church records, along with Tilmothy and Winslow, and is likely our Sarah." Parents: David JOHNSON Capt and Rebecca WASHBURN. She was married to Joseph PACKARD Captain on 27 Dec 1748 in Bridgewater, MA. (S8) (S9) Bridgewater Vital Records: "Sarah and Joseph Packard Jr., Dec 27, 1748." Children were: Temperance E PACKARD, Winslow PACKARD, Timoth PACKARD Deacon, Levi PACKARD, Sarah PACKARD, Susanna PACKARD. SOURCES SITED: S1. Cheney Family by Charles H. Pope, Roxbury, MA Deaths. S2. S8. Mitchell p. 265. P. 265: Mitchell is confused about the two Josephs. He attributes Joseph, son of Joseph, son of Samuel2, to marrying Sarh, D. of Capt David Johnson in 1748 with children elsewhere mentioned. On page 266 he mentions Joseph, son of Joseph who was the son of John and mentions he (his brother, John) and Joseph went to Brookfield and had a son Winslow, gra. Dartmouth 1777. At the end of this family citation he says: " It is difficult to distinguish this family from that of Joseph 8, i.e. above, and there may be some confusion in the accounts here given of them..". S9.
