a. Note:   Simon Record enlisted at Pembroke, Mass. April 1775 as a private in Cp t. Eleazer Hamelin's Co., Col. John Bailey's Regt. of Mass. for 8 months. Marched to Roxbury, Mass. and burned out a guard house of the enemy a nd a privateer on Governor Island. Re-enlisted at Pembroke, Mass. July, 1777 as a private in Cpl. Ichabod L eonard's Co., Col. Carpender's Regt. for three months. Marched to Fogla nd Ferry near Tiverton R.I., then to Providence R.I., and Pawtuxet, R.I. w here he was discharged at the end of his term. Re-enlisted at Easton, Mass. in 1778 as a private in Cpt. Slocum's Co ., Col. Barton's Regt. of infantry for 6 weeks. Served at Fogland Ferry ne ar Tiverton R.I. Re-enlisted soon afterwark as a private in Cpt. Dix'x Co. of R.I., Co l. Mitchell's Regt. for 3 months. Was stationed at Berth Hill Fort taki ng care of sick and performing boat duties. Discharged at Fogland Ferry. Re-enlisted at Easton, Mass. July, 1780 as a private in Cpl. Matthew's C o. for 3 months. Went to Rhode Island to Quaker Hill performing guard duti es.
