Notes
a. Note:   Original records (1850 & 1880 Census & extracted marriage record) have his name spelled John Lovett. An extracted marriage record shows a marriage between John Lovet and Hannah Reed on 11 Oct 1823 in Nobleborough, Lincoln, Maine. (IGI) JVL, May 2004 (JVL: I don't know how the following census record relates to this family. Have John Leavitt b.1800 and Hannah Reed family in 1850 Census with son named Galen W. age 18) Connection to parents is necessarily tentative. 1850 census indicates parents born in Maine. 1850 Census: Census Place: New York, New York, New York Source: FHL Film 1254870 National Archives Film T9-0870 Page 26C Relation Sex Marr Race Age Birthplace Galen W. They have in the census Philopius which in fact she was Phillipina and Willie was galen William but used William as his name . Galen was murdered in 1893 in New York and I know where they are buried but just cant get to New York maybe sometime in the future. Any way genealogy is a great hobby till you hit the brick wall. I have found Wilmarths in New York which is Phillipinas sisters family married into so hopefully with a little help I can get some information and or maybe even the photo . Well hope to hear from you take care, keep in touch . Linda Lovatt-Mayenschein
