a. Note:   " Roswell was born about 1770, undoubtedly in Dutchess County . He was anensign in the regiment of Lt. Col. Thomas Rogers in 1810. He marriedfirst his cousin Adah, daughter of Josiah and Susannah (Washburn] Perry.They had seven children . In 1805 they sold property in Wilton toMacGregor. The deed was not recorded , however, untill 1825, at whichtime he had remarried and was probably a resident of Covington,Livingston Co. N.Y. In the 1830 census he was listed as being between60 & 70 years of age. At this time his son , Numan, was living south ofLeRoy at Union Corners. His son Ransom, had never married and was livingat York, Livingston Co., while his daughter, Lucinda, was in Castile,Wyoming Co., and his son Clark had moved to Washtenaw Co. Michigan. The name of the second wife was Dolly______. They had five sons andone daughter. Nothing further is known of them, but the widow and sixchildren were listed as potential heirs to Artemas (Perry) ,s propertyand were said (1847) to be residing in Niagara County."....
