Notes
a. Note:   "Joseph was among the first of the family to remove from Wilton. In 1806Covington was a wildernessn. It was formed January 1817, Pavillion thehome of the Carrs, was set off from it later. Joseph's birth date anddeath date are not known but he was the twin of Mary (Perry)who marriedIsrael Craw. He (Joseph) married his second cousin Sally Carr, daughterof Richmond and Mary (Perry) Carr. They sold their property in Wilton andwere settled on the Leicester Road in 1814, thus preceding the Carrs andthe Crowfoots by two years. His place can still be located and is not farfrom that of Roswell and within a few miles of Numan and Ransom. His namewith that of Joseph Jr. appears on the 1817 tax rolls of Covington. Theyhad eight children and four of their sons , Joseph Jr., Norman, Grant, and Merritt, pioneered farther west. It is probable that the entirefamily migrated there about 1827 when so many of the Perry and Carrfamilies are known to have been in Washtenaw County , Michigan. The lastN.Y. State record of them is the census of 1820....."
