a. Note:   "Joseph, born in Cornwallis, Nova Scotia [In a submission to the IGI itstates that he was born in Haverhill, Essex, Mass], October 2, 1762.Married [1] Miss Clinch. [2] Lucretia Handy, who was the mother of hischildren. In 1796 he obtained land in the vicinity of French Lake,Sheffield. He probably lived on Lot 26 which he shared with his father.In July 1800, he was appointed deacon of the Baptist Church which wasbeing formed in Canning. In 1808 he obtained another grant of land atLittle River near the Sunbury Queens County border. About 1816 he and most of his children migrated to Carleton County andsettled in the vicinity of Waterville and about four miles from Hartlandand Wakefield and Brighton. They obtained grants of land there. After hiswife died there he went to live with a son at Becagiumac (Rockland) anddied about 1840" !QUESTION: George Hayward's records indicate Joseph died in Brighton,Carleton Co., New Brunswick.
