a. Note:   Samuel married his cousin Jane Estabrooks daughter of Joseph. They movedto Wakefield, Carleton County about 1816. He settled on Lot 16 a total of300 acres, in the fifth tier in the Parish of Wakefield in theJacksontown area, across from his uncle Ebenezer Estabrooks. In 1851apetition was presented to the legislature signed by William Nevers,Samuel W. Estabrooks and forty-four others, asking for local selfgovernment. At the time of marriage Samuel lived in the Parish ofWaterborough, Queens Co., New Brunswick. It has been said that he mayhave moved to the State of Maine in his about 1851. !QUESTION: Samuel may have been married twice. That Jane was his secondwife, his first having died giving birth to his daughter Caroline?
