Knight of Otsego, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2008, in Kalamazoo. Mrs. Knight was born November 9, 1918, in Martin to Homer and Daisy (Tilley) McDonald and had been a lifelong resident of the area. In 1937 she graduated from OtsegoHigh School. For several years she delivered the Kalamazoo Gazette, drove school bus, was a waitress at Mol�s and Judy�s Restaurants, and for many years was a rural mail carrier with the Otsego Post Office. Donna was an active member of the OtsegoUnitedMethodistChurch for over 70 years and was the oldest living member. She was an avid bowler for over 50 years and also an avid card player. Family gatherings were very important to Donna and she loved to go out to eat. She had traveled overseas with the Plainwell Seniors under the watchful eye of Pam Hopkins. On July 29, 1939 in Otsego she married Kermit Knight who died in 1991. Also preceding her in death were her siblings, William, George, Carl, twins Lee and Lena, Bob, and Donna�s twin, Dorothy Knight. Surviving are 3 daughters and 2 sons, Sue Higgs of Otsego, Ken (Joy) Knight of Plainwell, Kerry (Sue) Knight of Otsego, Roxanne (Chris) Orr of Martin and Sherry (Ken) Schumaker of Otsego; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; her sister, Jean (Donald) Marks of Kentucky; a sister-in-law, Mildred McDonald of Allegan; many nieces and nephews; and her lifelong friend, Lois Story. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the United Methodist Church of Otsego, with Pastor Joe Shaler officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery, Otsego. Contributions in memory of Donna may be made to the United Methodist Church for the stained glass window restoration fund.
