JOSEPH - Ida Louise McIntosh, 88, of Watervliet passed away Monday, July 4, 2011, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. Cremation has taken place as per Ida's wishes and burial of ashes will take place in Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell, Mich. Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Ida was born March 19, 1923, in Benton Harbor to Henry and Susan (Black) Higgs. She was employed as a clerical worker at Whirlpool Corp. for many years. She was a member of the Lakeshore Bible Church and also the Benton Harbor Emblem Club. Ida is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Simmons of Coloma, two grandchildren; Lonnie and Rachel Simmons of Coloma; one great granddaughter Cala Simmons, also of Coloma; and a nephew, Robert Higgs. She was preceded in death by her husband Riley in 1988.
