Note: http://www.fultonhistory.com/Fulton.html Old Newspaper Archive Lowville NY Lewis County Republican 1855 Sad Accident-On Friday, the 26th plt., at Byersville, the only daughter of Mrs. Wadsworth, a child of about four years of age was so severely burned, by her clothes taking fire at the stove pipe where she sat down to warm herself that she died of convulsions in a few hours. She had been left alone by her mother while a call was made at the house of a neighbor. The poor little sufferer's earlobes were nearly burned off and her body in many places burned to a crisp. Dr. Perrine was called immediately, but medical help was of no avail. After lingering four or five hours in intense agony the poor child died in convulsions. This is a terrible warning to mothers and one that cannot fail to be heeded. (reprinted from)--Dansville Herald
