Notes
a. Note:   Grandma Frieda was a beloved woman. Although she had but a seventh grade education, she was an avid reader. She is fondly remembered as saying, "I read somewhere....". Since the 1950's, she resided with daughter Evelyn. Upon Evelyn's death, she resided with daughter Lucille. As her grandchildren grew up she would frequently visit her daughter, Lucille ('I'll see you a week from Thursday") to give her rest from raising 4 children. Grandma Frieda introduced her grandchildren Carol, Diane, George and Lisa to nightly tea parties when she visited them. She would make herself a cup of tea and put a teaspoonful in the glasses of milk for her grand kids. Carol carried on this tradition with her boys Kevin and Ryan and has introduced it to friends throughout the years. Frieda made great clam spaghetti and wonderful anise cookies and fudge at Christmas time. Whenever her daughter Lucille would talk about Frieda, she would always cry because she missed her mother so terribly. Frieda was very poor in her later years, but her spirit, love of family and generosity would rival any riches. Diane Somerville Buslik ( granddaughter) reports that Grandma Frieda told her that her given name was Elizabeth Frieda but that she never liked the name Elizabeth and for her entire life went by the name of Frieda. Confirmation of Frieda's birth showed her given name was Anna F Goethel
