Note: Herbert K. Walker Mishawaka--- Herbert K. Walker, 71 of Van Wert, Ohio, formerly of Mishawaka, died about 2 p.m. Thursday in the Medical Arts Building, Van Wert. Mr. Walker retired in 1978 from the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier in Van Wert after 33 years of service. He was born Nov. 25, 1918, in Mishawaka. On Jan. 11, 1942, in Markle, Ind., he married Fern Lichtenberger, who survives. Also Surviving two daughters, Linda Breese of Willshire, Ohio, and Suzanne Cox of Convoy, Ohio; three sons, Roger of Almagordo, N.M., David of Van Wert and Jeffery of Saginaw, Mich.; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Donnabelle Rickert of Wakarusa and Mary Brunner of Carlisle, Ind.; and four brothers Rev. Raleigh of North Manchester, Ind., Rev. Robert of Fresno, Calif., L.C. of Bradenton, Fla., and Don of Mishawaka. He was a Veteran of World War II and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Van Wert and Rural Mail Carriers Association. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Church. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert, with military services conducted by members of the American Legion in Van Wert. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday in Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, and an hour before the services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church building fund.
