a. Note:   E. A. Buschatz Dies of Wound ; Suicide Ruled Ernest A. Buschatz, 55 of 194 E. Detroit St., Center Township died in Memorial Hospital at 9:05 p.m. Saturday as the result of a .25 caliber bullet wound in his head. Coroner Dr. Joseph S. Stratigos ruled the death a suicide. State Trooper Ross Molebash was called to the Buschatz home at 5 p. m. and found the victim in bed suffering from loss of blood from the bullet wound. The victims wife, Eva had gone to a neighbors house about 4 p.m., Molebash said, Buschatz had been in ill health for about five years and had recently become despondent over his condition. Molebash said the victims wife told him. The South Bend Tribune January 30, 1955 --------------------------------------------------------- Buschatz - Funeral services for Ernest A. Buschatz, 194 Detroit St ., Center Township will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Hay Funeral Hom e. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today in the funeral home. Burial wi ll be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. He was born in South Bend Oct. 23, 1899 and lived here all his life. He was a journeyman electrician for the Hatfield Electric Co. May 31, 1907 he married Eva Lyon. Surviving is his widow; a son, Robert E. Buschatz of Cleveland, O., and a brother and sister Richard E. Buschatz of South Bend, and Mrs Frieda Garren, Buchanan, Mich. Pallbearers will be Russell E. Place, Paul M. Barnes, George C. Wiley, John Daly, and Darold Kintper. The South Bend Tribune January 31, 1955 SPECIAL NOTE : The date Ernest's marriage, May 31, 1907 must be a typo. Ernest would have been only seven years old when he married for the second time.
