a. Note:   Quartes Moore Died Saturday Night, The North Manchester News, May 18, 1918 Quartes Moore died at his home east of town Saturday night about eleven o'clock after an illness of ten days following a stroke of paralysis on Wednesday, May 15. He was conscious only part of the time following the attack, as one entire side was completely paralyzed. The funeral services will be held at Pleasant Grove, Tuesday morning at 10:30 with Rev. Samuel Frantz in charge. Burial will be made in the cemetery adjoining. Mr. Moore was born south of Wabash, August 21, 1851, and was the son of Joseph and Delilah Moore. He was united in marriage to Miss Laura Monroe on July 8, 1875, to which union were born four children all of whom survive except the eldest, Arthur Moore, who was killed in an accident at Fort Wayne five years ago. They removed to this township twelve years ago and have since made their home near this city. Mr. Moore leaves to mourn his departure his wife, a son, Elsy Moore of Mishawaka, two daughters, Mrs. Fred McClure of this city and Mrs. Harry Davis of Wabash. Of the family of ten brothers and sisters only one survives, a sister, Mrs. William Bolinger of near Servia. He also leaves five grandchildren, while one grandchild, Mary Jane Davis, passed away a few months ago. [NOTE: This article names his father as Joseph Moore, but Joseph was his brother. His father was Gilbert Moore.]
