New Hartford, Jan. 25.-Last evening at the home of his son on Second street, occurred the death of Edwin J. Churchill. Mr. Churchill was born near Kirkland in 1838. His parents were of New England stock and were among the early settlers of this section. The -greater part of his life was spent on the farm where he was born. He was a farmer by occupation but for some time he was employed as a carpenter, and at one time conducted a wagon shop in Kirkland. He was married to Ellen Cook of Hecla. Of four children born to them two survive, Mrs. Eugene Walker and Edwin P. Churchill of New Hartford. Mrs. Churchill died in early womanhood.
