ELLEN ROWCROFT Mrs. Ellen Rowcroft, 85, died in the home of her daughter, - Mrs. Frank Walker, 133 Richardson Avenue, Monday after a lingering [illness] Ellen Garner was born in Stockport, Eng., and was married to Samuel Rowcroft in 1878. After her marriage she moved to Canada. In 1894 she moved to Utica, where she had since resided. Mrs. Rowcroft was a member of the Congregational Church of Clayville. Her husband died in 1922 She leaves four daughters, Mrs. W. G. Wilson, Mrs. Mary Powers, Mrs. Frank Walker, Mrs. W. I. Feb. 20— Friends here were sorry to learn of the death of Mrs. Ellen Rowcroft which occurred on Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Walker, 133 Richardson Avenue. Utica,after a lingering illness. Mrs. Rowcroft was in her 86th year and was born in Stockport, England, and was united in marriage there to Samuel Rowcroft in 1878. After her marriage they moved to Canada where they resided. 1894 they moved to Utica, coming from there to this place, purchasing the place known as the Albert Waldron farm where they lived for a number of years. Since leaving here they had lived in Capron. Mr. Rowcroft died in 1922. Mrs. Rowcroft still retained her membership with the Congregational Church, Clayville. She was a splendid neighbor and had many friends here. She leaves four daughters, Mrs. W. G. Wilson, Mrs. Mary Powers. Mrs. Frank Walker and Mrs. W. J. Wilson, all of Utica; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. One grandson. Norman Powers, died while overseas.
