Note:   BURIAL: Ogdensburg Journal - Friday, February 16, 1940 Robert Johnson's Rites held At St. John's Today Funeral rites for Robert Johnson were held at 1:30 today from his home and at 2 o'clock from St. John's Church, the Rev. Charles E. Kennedy, rector, officiating. The ritual of the Loyal Order of Moose was conducted by a delegation of the order at the Johnson home before the services were held at the church. A profusion of flowers testified to the high esteemin which Mr. Johnson a former local milk dealer, was held. Bearers were James Durand, Robert McRorie, Edward Lacomb, Clifford Beswick, Delor Spooner and Fred Booth. The body was placed in a vault to await spring burial. Barton Hepburn Hospital following an illness of eight days. Death was due to kidney ailment. One of the best-known residents of this city, Mr. Johnson's death came as a distinct shock to a wide circle of friends who will join in extending sympathy to members of his bereaved family. A native and lifelong resident ofOgdensburg, Mr. Johnson was a son of Thomas and Esther Mills Johnson. His marriage to Miss Flora Allard of this city took place at St. Mary's Cathedral rectory, the Rev. John L. Plunkett officiating, Sept. 29, 1920. Mr. Johnson had operated a milk route in Ogdensburg for 19 years. He was a member of St. John's Church of this city and the First Ward Booster Club and Loyal Order of Moose. Surviving besides his wife are five children, Betty, William, Esther, Norman and Raymond and his mother, Mrs. Esther Johnson. A brother, Thomas, and three sisters, Mrs. Clarence Kelley, Mrs. Clarence Berry and Mrs. Edmund Rheome, all of this city, also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 from his home, 507 Jersey Ave., and at 2 p.m. from St. John's Church. Arrangements are in charge of the Lalonde Funeral Service. OBIT: Well Known Milk Dealer Here Passes Services for Robert Johnson, 41, of 107 Jersey avenue, who died at Hepburn Hospital yesterday morning following eight day’s of illness, will be held from his late residence Friday at 1:30 p.m. and a half hour later at St. John’s church. The body will be placed in the vault at Ogdensburg Cemetery pending burial in the spring. Born in Ogdensburg, he was a son of Thomas and Esther Mills Johnson.
