Notes
a. Note:   Thomas McCosker was born and married in NSW but had moved to Queensland by 1889. The Walker, McCosker, Mossman families all seem to be involved in some way. See "Calliope Shire Centenary 1879-1979" Councillor Gordon Mossman assisted with the compilation of the book. Joan Reed wrote "They owned hotels in Many Peaks and Gladstone and a wine shop in Rockhampton. Retiring to Sydney until their deaths. They were both buried in Brisbane, quite close to Uncle Jim and Uncle Barney(Lutwyche Cemetery). There were 10 children of their marriage. Surviving members were Thomas, Alice, Agnes, James, Con, Barney, Myrtle, and Owen." He is mentioned as publican in the Persons before Queensland Government committees (1902-1920) [McCosker Thomas Alexander-Hotel Keeper in Many Peaks-Proposed Railway (Mundubbera to the Northern Burnett) in 1919-20/v.3 1048-1050 and Proposed Railway Extension 1917/v.3 180-182 so he was in Many Peaks as a publican in those years (1917-1919). He is also mentioned as publican of the Imperial Hotel in the Calliope Centenary book as well as being a councillor in local government for 1910,1911 and probably longer.
