Note:   After her father Nathaniel Guthrie died about 1833 in Lawrence County AL, Eliza and her siblings Marcetta/Lucretta/Lucetta and William C. became wards of the court and were placed with two Wallace families. Marcetta/Lucretta/Lucetta and William C. lived with Jeremiah Wallace (son of William Wallace and Grace Harrison), while Eliza lived with James J. Wallace (son of Davis Wallace and cousin to Jeremiah Wallace). The record shows that all of the children received money from their father's estate, which was held in trust by their guardians until they became of age. http://worldconnect.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=lesa&id=I55688

See also the record for Eliza's father Nathaniel Gutherie/Guthrie. The Wallaces lived near each other and it appears that interaction between the siblings and relatives of their guardians occurred since the court record shows that Eliza married William Wallace (William Harrison Wallace), son of William Wallace and Grace Harrison, in Oct 1834. 1870 Colbert County AL census, Dickson post office
