Note:   JOHN TEMPLE was born on 26 November 1804 in PA (probably Chester County). Some records say his father was Thomas Temple while others say John. Mother’s name may have been Ann. John married Hannah Hollis on July 22, 1824. The 1830 Federal census has him living in Uwchlan, Chester County, PA. The 1840 census has him living in East Caln, Chester County, PA. In the 1850 census he was a listed as a laborer living in Sadsbury, Chester Co, PA. He died on 3 January 1851 at the age of 46 in Sadsbury Twp, Chester Co, PA ."We know John was in West Whiteland, Chester Co., PA in 1835 because his children, Thomas and Elizabeth were being schooled by the county. (http://www.chesco.org/DocumentCenter/View/4029) It was determined that in 1847, John bought land from James Yearsley and his wife Susanna--, and in 1848, he bought another parcel of land from John Yearsley, apparently adjoining the first. This land was along the Turnpike, in the village of Midway. By 1853, this land was considered to be in Valley Township, according to the deed selling the land. This land was sold in 1853 to settle the estate of John Temple. At that time, Hannah was in Union Co., Ohio presumably with her minor children and with Elizabeth and James Yearsley. George and Thomas were still in Chester Co., PA.
Henry G. Thomas was the guardian of John's minor children after John died." Copes notes on Chester County: “John Temple of Sadsbury died intestate, Jan 1851 leaving widow, Hannah, and children, Thomas, Elizabeth (m. James Yearsley), George (over 21), Joseph Lewis Temple, James, Henrietta, Franklin, Josephine, and John HOLLIS Temple. All in Chester Co. except Elizabeth who is in Union County, Ohio”
There was also a letter to a Lewis Cook in Philadelphia from Eden Booth of Colonial Poultry Farms in Pleasant Hill, Mo. dated May 1952. He had more info on the Temple family he was sending to Cook. Included is this info on John:
"John Temple was the son of John Temple. John Temple (son) was married to Hannah HOLLIS on July 22, 1824. John Temple died Jan. 3, 1851. I don't know where he was born, where he married, or where he died. Hannah his wife, died Jan.25,1889 in Kansas City, Mo. (Much of this imfortation was copied from www.temple-genalogy.com)
