Note: Mary E. Nelson Born circa 1943 Died March 26, 1989 Mary E. Nelson, 46, of Rexford, formerly of South Dansville, died Sunday (Mar. 26, 1989) at her home following a brief illness. Born in South Dansville, she was the daughter of Harold and Sophia[error here: her mother was Rena Duryea Wallace; Sophia was her grandmother] Wallace. She had lived in Rexford-Union Park area for 23 years. Mrs. Nelson graduated from Geneseo State University College in 1965 with a degree in education and was a teacher for the past 23 years at Shenendehowa Central School in Clifton Park. She was a member of the PTA at the school, the Shenendehowa Women's Bowling League, the Shenendehowa United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the church's Farah Circle, and its Senior Bell Choir. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in South Dansville, and the Sugar Hill Home Bureau in Clifton Park. Survivors include her husband, Thomas; two daughters, Ginger and Trixie Nelson, both of Rexford; a sister, Martha Fellows of Chicago, Ill.; a brother, William Wallace of Lakeville; and her stepmother, Alberta Wallace of South Dansville. A service was conducted Wednesday at Shenendehowa United Methodist Church. Burial was in Memory's Garden, Colonie. Arrangements were by the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home of Clifton Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shenendehowa United Methodist Church or to Hospice of Schenectady. (GCE, March 30, 1989, p4)
