a. Note:   hts for Peter Welker. Son, Philip, and son-in-law Jacob Zoover receive letters. Franklin Co., PA Orphans court vol. A pg. 238. Named as heir of Peter Welker. 1807 Philip listed on county tax for Lurgan Twp., Franklin Co., PA as cooper. In April of 1809, Philip Walcher of Franklin County bought part of Section 13, Township 9, Range 1. In 1818 Philip and Catherine sold part of this land to John Romler. The following quote on Philip Welker was taken from a sketch of David, the son of Philip and Kate Pifer Welker. "Philip Welker came across the mountains of Pennsylvania to Ohio and located in Springfield township, on a farm in section 13, now owned by William Howard Welker, his grandson, and adjoining the latter's home farm on the southwest. Philip Welker lived on that property until his death,when aged 80 years. Of his children, the following reached maturity:Peter; Jacob, residing at Kansas City, Missouri; John; William; David;George; Apeline, residing on the state line in Springfield township, who is the widow of Jacob Fosnot; and Rebecca, who is the widow of Barnum Pitts."
