Givesdeath date, wife, Margaret, and names children and where they are livingin 1931. The following obituary appeared in the New Castle News on April 15, 1931,on page 2. "Jacob Macklin, aged 58, a highly respected and well known citizenof Bessemer, died Tuesday in the family home on Walnut street, Bessemer,following an illness of one week from influenza. Mr. Macklin was born in Lawrence county July 28, 1873, the son ofEmanuel and Margaret Manewal Macklin and had been a resident of Bessemerthe past thirty years, having been employed as a steam shovel engineer inthe Bessemer Limestone company. He was a member of the Bessemer Presbyterian church. He is survived by his mother Mrs. Jane Macklin; his wife, Mrs.Margaret Macklin; two daughters Jane and Elizabeth, at home and two sons,Wilber C. and Paul E. of Maywood, Ill. Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. inthe home and at 2 p.m. in the Bessemer Presbyterian church, with Rev. W.J. Engel officiating. Interment will be made in the Petersburg cemetery."
