a. Note:   ding in Barnet Village and entered into the tin and hardware business; keeping two peddler's carts on the road all the time selling his wares, dealing also in stoves, hardware, and sugar tools; taking in the early days rags, horsehair, old metal, cloth, and maple sugar in exchange. In 1855 his son John S.T. became a partner and after d. of the father, continued the business alone until March 1909. "Kept a Country Store at the Four Corners until 1849 when he moved to the 1800 Stevens Building in Barnet Village and entered into the tin and hardware business; keeping two peddler's carts on the road all the time selling his wares, dealing also in stoves, hardware, and sugar tools; taking in the early days rags, horsehair, old metal, cloth, and maple sugar in exchange. In 1855 his son John S.T. became a partner and after d. of the father, continued the business alone until March 1909.
