The Debt Books for Kent County indicate that Ruth Wallis owned the property Agreement in her own name between 1733-5, In 1736-44 the property was registered in the name of Capt. William Gaskill.
Ruth's property Agreement was distributed to her four daughters after her death. Her brother, John Wallis and later his widow Hannah Wallis, purchased the four undivided quarters of the land between 1757 and 1762. These quarters were purchased from Elizabeth Gatfkile Burroughs and her husband George Burroughs, Ann Gatfkile spinster, Ruth Gatiskill Hollyday and her husband Edward Hollyday, and Jane Cooley wife of John Cooley.
The will of John Wallis mentions the tract called Agreement which he purchased from the heirs of Capt. William Gaitskill.
John Wallis also bequeathed money to Ruth MacDaniel the daughter of Hannah MacDaniel. No reason to connect Ruth or Hannah MacDaniel to Ruth Wallis has been discovered. There are three specific references to the MacDaniel family. John is mentioned in the wills of Ann and Mathias Day both written in 1742 and James witnessed the will of Catherine Brooks in 1726. It is possible but unlikely that Ruth Wallis outlived Capt William Gatskile and subsequently married MacDaniel but if that were the case John Wallis would have bought Agreement from the heirs of MacDaniel not Gatskile.
