Notes
a. Note:   He lived in Woodhouse along with most of the family, part of the time til 1871, he went to the states and came back, then moved sometime after that to Michigan. By 1880 he was in Little Rock, Arkansas and died shortly after. His son Ernest stayed in Michigan. Family years ago could not find him, they said he went into the woods one day (in Michigan) and never returned. I don't know why this family rumor was started unless they just didn't know where he lived. He moved to Arkansas from Michigan with his family. And died there. Ernest stayed in Michigan. In 1851/2 he was in Iowa getting a home for his parents. They wanted to move here. So he set one up with Uncle Benjamin along, and Silas came by 1853 and stayed here and died in 1867. Edward had went back home for his wife and family. His wife Mary died in childbirth of Lillie in March of 1860. Ed re-married to Hannah Mills Jan.1, 1861. They had 4 girls. He had 2 sons named Edward. Edward Sr.owned six sawmills, and was a logger. He was a big man like his father. His religon was Unniversalist at the Association Church He worked for the Canadian Government as a Timber Estimator. He later owned 6 sawmills before his death. He is on the 1852 tax list in Winnesheik Iowa living on Sec 26, 27 and twp 97 range 7 Uncle Benjamin Sec. 27, twp 97 range 7/half brother to Silas I assume they were on the same property.
