Notes
a. Note:   He was a little man like his mother. He had a log homestead in Therien, Alberta, Canada. They did live in Iowa for awhile. Nancy died in Bonnyville, Alberta according to death record. They were wheat farmers. He had a tumor in his neck, which they think was the cause of death. (Cancer?) Eleanor Carlysle-Smith her mother, and two brothers, had a stone put up for them in 2005 next to Esther "Loretta" Emery. A really nice one. Notes from Julen, as told to her by my grandfather Glenn: Glenn said that when Silas had hurt himself he would swear in French and as he got older he talked to himself in French. Notes From Eleanor: The registration of death certificate for Silas states the cause of death as "Granuloma Fungoides" which is a form of cutaneous T cell lymphoma. Quote: My grandmother called it a cancerous tumour on his neck. Which in my opinion is close enough without getting into technical detail. From a Newpaper in Canoe Iowa Sept. 8, 1902 S. Knight has gone to visit his son who lives in Wisconsin, he took a covered wagon. In his younger days he was quit a marksman and is expecting a good time hunting as well as visiting. His daughter Hattie and her son Grady accompanied him. Many notes from Ardis McCallion who slaved going through all of the papers in Iowa and printing them all out on all of our families(Emery, Reed, Knight, and more) there throughout the years, as well as Rosalyn Lee who did my other half of the piles!!
