a. Note:   Last residence: 5870 Forest Lane, Indianapolis Harold graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1919 and Butler University in about 1924. His first job was as a teacher of vocational science at East Peoria High School in Peoria, IL. He received a contract to teach at Tech from then principal Milo Stuart beginning in September, 1925. He received a Masters in Education about 1935. He taught at Tech until 1957; first in the Mechanical Drawing Dept., Head of that department from about 1941, vice-principal and guidance counselor until 1957 when he was appointed Principal at George Washington High School in Indianapolis. In the summer of 1961 he began work as the first Principal of Arlington High School, hiring faculty and overseeing the buildings' completion. The school opened in September, 1961. He fell ill in January, 1962. He always worked during the summer, at Detroit Aircraft, on Bell Isle, Detroit, as a draftsman in 1929. One summer he joined several other teachers building houses. He came home very stiff and sore the first few weeks after digging ditches. Later he worked at Chevrolet Truck Body Division as a tool designer for several summers. In 1942 he was at Lukas-Harold, builder of the Norden bombsight. He was anxious to supplement a teacher's salary but also felt he could better teach and counsel students with the experience he gained. Death not shown in Broderbund CD of SS Deaths.
