Need to check with the other compilers.2002 ############################################################################### From Jan Stevens E-mail 9 Apr. 2000 I found a will mentioning Pierce Bailey Henderson I thought might interest you. This is the Pierce BaileyHenderson who married Milly Duncan in Fauquier County, VA, on 17 Dec., 1789, believed to e a brother of Edward Henderson or perhaps an uncle. (Alternative spelling of his name, Pierce Bayley Henderson; my have een named after a Pierce Bayly or Bayley living in the Fairfax/Loudoun County area during Colonial times) Milly Duncan was the daughter of John Duncan, Sr. of Fauquier County, who registered a will on 4 April 1788 with the county authorities mentioning son John, son-in-law enjamin Grisby, son Willis, wife Wilkey, sons and daughters Moses, Elias, Enoch, Williss, Milley and Lucinda and executor Charles Duncan. Witnesses Charles Duncan, Cossom Day and Margett Williams. Here is the document in which I found Pierce ailey Henderson. It comes from a ook called "Abstracts-Fauquier County Virginia Wills" I found in my local San Diego Genealogical Library: DIVISION OF ESTATE of Estate of John Duncan Sr. 13 October 1795 Administrator: Moses Duncan (son) Div. by: John Bronaugh, Augustine Jennings, Peter Routt Details: Widow-dower- 55 acres of land, Negroes, one feather bed and furniture, livestock, farm equipment, cash, etc. Son-in-law: Pierce Henderson Bailey, husand of Milly Duncan, dau. of John, - one Negro woman. In the latter end of Decemer, 1795 the said Moses Duncan proceeded to sell the residue of the aforesaid Estate both real and personal; land purchased by Moses Duncan; Negro man Tom purchased by Moses Duncan for his brother Willis Duncan; Negroes..purchased by Lucinda Duncan in part of her Legacy. Total: L477.17.3 after debts the remainder was divided between five children: Moses, Elias, Enoch, Willis and Lucinda.
