a. Note:   He resided in early manhood in Medford, MA where his elder brother Isaac, had settled. Presumabley he was there engaged in learning the rade of tanner and currier. He settled in the town of Leicester, where he purchased for 112 pounds and 12 schillings 3 acres, including a dwelling, bark house, mill house, beam house, and tanyard. In the deed to tis property, dated 1744, he is called of Medford. The house was a one-story structure on the north side of the road to Spencer, east of the Paxton road, while the tanyard was on the opposite side of the road. About 1780 he built a two story house eat of the original structure and this remained standing until 1800. He died in 1800 at which time he was the owner of 100 acres of land and was buried in Leicester.
