Note: Raised in Comminsky. Hunted and trapped as child to earn spending money. Travelled by hopping boxcars to play checkers for money at Seymore and Jeffersonville. In 20's to 30's, raced cars in Salem and area around, with Wren Warner. Believe in business with Gilbert Warner in grocery store. Was mechanic and owned garages(one at a time) at corner of 256 and 31 (SW corner), other one mile south of Austin (concrete block building across from old First National Bank). Worked as mechanic for Delbert Julian, in Scottsburg, IN. Helped build Freeman Field in Seymore, IN. Possibly assisted government monitor certain people for treasonous acts during World War II ?.? Helped (?) build Charlestown Powder Plant, but did work there in 1952 (Korean War) but job unknown. Owned straight-job truck, used to haul fruit/produce from Florida to Indiana. Also truck used locally to haul furniture for Buchanan's Furniture Store. Owned 80 acre farm 3 miles west of Kent on 256 (RR 1, Lexington,IN). Schooling unknown, but good at math. From 1952 to '56, worked for Breslin Construction Co., Louisville, KY, as forman of road crew (Merritt Lewis Warner accompanied on jobs at Aurora and Evansville, IN. Would leave at 2 A.M.. One morning it was so foggy that son had to use flashlight out the side window to see edge of road.). Owned single-shot 12 gauge, bolt-action 22 cal. Mossberg, 32 cal. revolver. Used 22 Mossberg to show son how to shoot, then bought son Red Ryder B.B. gun at Sale Barn in Scottsburg, IN during weekly visits (Saturday mornings). While at road construction and at farm, taught son to drive tracter. Was employed at Morgan's as truck driver, later foreman of garage. Buried at Austin cemetary on 256.
