One obit says he was born a Maumee, Ohio and the other says LaSalle, IL. Census seems to support Ohio. George B. Warner Obit #1 (from the Elkhart Truth) Cassopolis, Mich., March 28 (1932) - George B. Warner, 80, who was one of the first four rural mail carriers out of Cassopolis when the routes were established in 1901, died Sunday at the home of a son, George C. Warner, in La Porte, Ind. The funeral will be held at 2:30 Tuesday at the Kessington church, with burial at Kessington. Mr. Warner lived for many years at Kessington. He was born in LaSalle, Ill., and served two years with the Texas Rangers, also campaigning in the Indians wars of the northwest plains. Surviving relatives include six children, George C., Roy of Ellensburg, Wash., Mrs. Edgar French of Cassopolis and Mrs. Clara Euneman, Mrs. Florence Bender and Arthur, all of Chicago. George B. Warner Obit #2 (from the La Porte Daily Herald-Argus) George B. Warner, age 81, died suddenly at 8:00 a.m. yesterday at the home of his son, George C. Warner, 207 Harrison Street. Heart trouble caused the death. The son of Mr. and Mrs. George D. Warner, Mr. Warner was born at Maumee, Ohio, on March 31, 1851, moving here six years ago from Chicago. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Surviving are three sons, George C. Warner of La Porte, Royal Warner of Seattle, Wash., and Arthur M. Warner of Chicago; three daughters, Mrs. Clara Eunaman, Mrs. Florence Bender of Chicago, and Mrs. Lillian French of Cassopolis, Mich., 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at United Brethren church near Elkhart tomorrow afternoon at 2:30. The body may be viewed until 11 o’clock tomorrow morning. Burial will be in Kessington cemetery near Elkhart. O. M. Haverstock is in charge.
