Notes
a. Note:   Uncle of Marcus F. Wash From the book Shifting Scenes- Carter Co. Area Fields stayed at home on the ranch until World War One and at that time he joined the navy. He was always interested in racing horses, so that is where Fields was found for a few years, around the race tracks. In the early thirties he and Edna Burger were married and he became a family man. They have four sons and two daughters. Fields and Edna had a homestead west of Ekalaka on Spring Creek. The place was south west of Speiser. Soon their oldest boy was ready for school so they moved up on beaver Flat. For many years Fields had a horse he raced. After they moved to Ekalaka he worked for Trife Hedges as a bartender at the Old Stand. He still kept a horse or two. A few years later he trained horses for Bus Allan and was at various tracks through the racing season. He and Edna still live in Ekalaka 1940: Accession/Serial #:1109966; BLM Serial #: MTBIL 0032444, State: Montana Patentee Name: Archibald F.
