a. Note:   Aunt of Marcus F. Wash From the book Shifting Scenes-Carter Co Area Nellie went to high school in Ekalaka but didn't finish. Later she also went to Helena. She had a job in the Veterans' Hospital for awhile. Here she met Ed Sorenson and later married him. They lived in Great Falls and had two daughters. Ed passed away in the fifties and Nellie moved out West for her health. Here she met and married Bill Trager. They moved to Arizona for health benefits. They lived there a few years until Ed died. About a year and half later Nellie had to be taken to California to live with a daughter. She passed away and was buried there. The Belle Fourche Bee (SD) July 19, 1968 130 GATHER FOR HARKINS REUNION An all day reunion was enjoyed by 130 relatives and friends of the Odis Harkins family at the Sunset Galloway Ranch of Ekalaka, Mont. July 6. Folks from far and near were in attendance. Those coming the greatest distance were Mr. and Mrs. Wayne (Skip) Harkins, missionaries to Guaria, Parana, Brazil, South America; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Harkins were here on furlough from the air force having returned from England and are now stationed at San Antonio, Texas; Odis' brother Delbert and wife Gertrude, and sister, Mrs. Callie Burt, and Mr. and Mrs. George Elliot of Oregon. Mr. and Mrs. Lou Gotfredson of Ladner, SD, their daughter, Mrs. Delores Dillon, daughter and a friend, Katie Brust of Omaha, Neb, and son Elvie and family of Belle Fourche; also Mrs. Maude Blackford of Belle Fourche. Others were Jim Parks, Mrs. Lura Conger and son Charley and daughter Michelle and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Wood of the Black Hills area; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Russell and Grandma Castleberry and all the Charles Wash family of Broadus. Pod's two sisters Mrs. Nellie Trager of Wash. and Cecelia of Ekalaka; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Osgood and family of Sheridan, Wyo; Odis' sister, Zettie Castleberry, son Faxton and family of Glasgow; Mrs. Tex McDowell of Miles City and Many local residents and friends including relatives of Pastor Griffeth's family. After a day of visiting with picnic style meals and barbecued Galloway beef those who could stay enjoyed singing western, patriotic and gospel songs lead by members of the Harkins family. They also viewed slides of England, Scotland, Italy and Switzerland shown by Dick Harkins and of land of Brazil by Skip Harkins.
