a. Note:   Father of Marcus F. Wash From the book Shifting Scenes-Carter Co. Area Charlie (Pod) as a freshman in high school was a member of the first football team in Carter County High School. He only went his freshman year. He worked on various ranches. All the Wash family, Both boys and girls, were very fond of horses. Pod liked a good horse and usually rode a good horse. He married Florabelle Harkins about the middle of the depression years. They had four sons. Pod owned the former Harkins place in the Chalk Buttes area, which he sold to George Kreitel. Pod then bought a place in the Sayle Community of Powder River County. After getting broken up the second time by a horse, he decided to quit the ranch business. He started to barber for Joe Chiesa in Broadus, MT and when Joe passed away he took over the business. You will find him in his shop at Broadus. Stop in sometime and swap a story with him. Florabelle had a daughter from a previous marriage, Norella, born Nov 10.1933 Birth Certificate: Marcus Frank Wash, born July 8, 1941 in Trabert's Maternity Home, Ekalaka, Carter Co., Montana. Father Charlie Edgar Wash born Carter Co., MT; rancher, age 35. Mother Florabel Harkins, born Fletcher, Oklahoma age 32.
