a. Note:   Kermit Money sent the following items from The National Volunteer, a Shelby Co., IN newspaper:
 1. Sep. 20, 1860 ~~ "A Douglas (Democrat) club was formed in Hendricks, and Charles Cosby was elected Captain of the Guards."
 2. Feb. 16, 1866 ~~ "Charles Cosby elected Shelby County delegate to the Indiana State Democratic Convention."
 3. Mar. 8, 1866 ~~ "Charles Cosby's term as Justice of the Peace for Hendricks Township has expired."
 4, July 26, 1866 ~~ "The Democrats had a picnic at Cosby's Grove near Marietta."
 5. Mar. 19, 1868 ~~ "Charles Cosby chosen to serve on the election board."
 6. Aug. 26, 1869 ~~ Charles Cosby advertises his personal property for sale in Marietta.
 7. Nov. 4, 1869 ~~ The editor of the National Volunteer newspaper "received a letter from Charles Cosby formerly of Marietta, now located in Oswego, Kansas. It says he is much pleased with the country."
