When his brother Christoph Bammel came over in 1867, he either gave or sold his brother the property on Milam Street. The original Bammel home had to be moved so that Louisiana Street could be put through, dividing Mr. Bammel's holdings. The homesite then took on the address of 1714 Louisiana Street. Following Wm. Henry Bammel's death the family home was occupied by his first son Charles William Bammel and his wife Martha Ann Taylor. Martha Ann "Mo" Taylor Bammel and her son, William Edison Bammel, Sr. and his wife, Annie Martha Fischer, and their two children, Carol Ann Bammel and William Edison Bammel, Jr. lived in the homestead until July, 1952. At that time they moved to the old Monticello Area or West University Place, Houston, Texas and purchased a home at 3123 Nottingham (77005) where "Mo" Bammel, and Willie and Annie Bammel lived out their lifetime. The homestead on Louisiana was used as rental property until 1958 when it was leased to the Hugh Roy Cullen Family for 99 years, and the property became part of the Cullen Center. At that time the old homestead was sold and moved to an unknown location in the country.
