He enlisted Oct, 16, 1861, in Co K 2nd WI Vol Inf.;served about 8 months. Was discharged on account of disability. Heenlisted the second time Feb 16, 1864, in Co. K, 45th WI Vol Inf.Served until the close of the war. He has taken considerable interestin the public schools and has served as Director more or less.
