a. Note:   AKA: George Polk Age given as 51 in the 1850 Census of Robbinston, Eashington Co., ME. Alternate Marriage: Abt 1822 in probably New Brunswick. Land Petition of George Pulk dated Feb. 5, 1825 states that he was of the Parish of Sussex in the County of Kings, New Brunswick. It also states that he was born in Cornwallis, Nova Scotia, where he resided until his removal to the Parish of Sussex about three years earlier (abt 1822). He had a wife and one child at the time (1825) and, having never received a grant or allotment of land from the crown, desired to take up and improve two hundred acres - to commence at the southwest corner of land granted to Mary McGeorge from the the southeast side of the old Cumberland Road, and to extend southerly and westerly along the rear of land next to William Price and son.
