Note: COOLEY ELIZABETH "Betty" NELL (BURENS) aka "BETTY BOOP" and "BETTY DO-RIGHT" Nov. 13, 1928 - Nov. 17, 2016. Born in McKeesport with twin sister, Adelaide "Dolly" Doyle, to Bessie and Alfred Burens. Sister to Alfred of California, deceased. Lived primarily in Clairton/Wilson, Jefferson Hills/Pleasant Hills and McKeesport at Senior Care Plaza. Married to Warren Cooley of Fairchance, PA in 1951, deceased in 2011. Survived by her children, Gloria (Michael Blicha), Leslie, Claudia, and Warren "Mel" (Janet Cooley); and her grandchildren (six); and her great-grandchildren (three). Betty was short in stature, being at most four feet 11 inches, but BIG in kindness. Known for attention to detail, beautiful handwriting, tatting (making lace by looping thread wound on a hand shuttle), card-playing, bowling, selling shoes at Joseph Hornes, and ending all conversations with "TOOTLES". Betty loved station wagons, pink roses, grey horses, steak, stuffed pork chops, and Chanel No. 5. Betty was in the forefront of RECYCLING and coupon- clipping/shopping. A benign brain tumor discovered in 1990 was life-changing. It brought many complications and restrictions. Betty was very active in her dreams where she was free of her physical limitations. She was well cared for by family, friends, Hospice, and Senior Care Plaza staff. She was truly a joy to know and is now a FREE SPIRIT. Visitation SUNDAY, November 20, 2016, from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and MONDAY, November 21, 2016, from 10 a.m. until Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. to take place at JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, PA 15236.
