a. Note:   The Morning Herald - August 8, 1941 Jane H. Sowers Mrs. Jane Humphreys Sowers, 81 widow of Andrew J. Sowers, died at 4:45 o'clock Thursday afternoon August 7, 1941 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lillie Bixler at 2 Loch Lomond Street, South Uniontown. Death was attributed to complications. In addition to Mrs. Bixler, she leaves another daughter, Mrs. Nannie Tewell; Fairchance, a son Alvin Sowers, Farmington, a borther William Humphreys, Smithfield; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Cooley, Fairchance; Mrs. Eva Wilson, Coolsprings, and Mrs. Harriet Nixon Fairchance; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Mrs Sowers was a member of the Methodist Church of Fairchance. The body will be removed from the A. D. Ferguson Funeral Home to the home of Mrs. Bixler Friday afternoon where friends will be received until Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at which time short funeral services will be held. Additional rites will be held at 4 o'clock EST in the Methodist Church at Fairchance. Rev. Leland, pastor of the Fairchance church will have charge of the services. He will be assisted by Rev. C. W. Kerr of the Third Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery at Fairchance.
