Note: Jessie Backstrom Jessie E. Backstrom, 88, 122 N. Second St., West Newton, died Tuesday, May 10 in Monhehan Personal Care Center, Hibb. She was born March 10, 1895, in Millgrove, daughter of the late Elias and Harriet Speer Everett. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of West Newton and of the Lutheran Church Women. Preceding her in death was her husband, Walter O. Backstrom. Survivors include three sons, Chuck O. Backstrom of Uniontown, David Backstrom of Bethel Park and Robert Backstrom of West Newton; two sisters, Emma McManus of West Newton and Grace Mansfield of Hempfield Twp.; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Friends are being received at Richard F. Dodson Memorial Home, West Newton, from 7 to 9 pm Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Thursday.
