Note: "Garrett Journal" Garrett County, Maryland 13 May 1909: "Another old soldier is dead, this time it is Lennox Martin Beeman who has answered the final call. He died at his home in Gilmore, Md., last Thursday. Mr. Beeman has been ailing a long time, but was confined to his bed not more than a week. His wife and eight children survive him. His brothers are Jacob, of Garrett county; George, of Barton, and David, Charles and Thomas, all of Lonaconing. Mart Beeman, as he was called, was born on South Mountain, Garrett County, 71 years ago. He was a farmer in his young days and late a railroader. He served about eight months in the Union army, as a private in "C" Company, 2nd Md. Vols., and was honorably discharged at the close of the war.
