Acuff, Lawyer,Legislator and Educator of Knoxville, Shows the origin of the Acuff name dates to William the Conq. 1066ad. this observation based on the book "The Norman People," by Henry King and Co, London, England,(1874) one of the first spellings known was ACULF. Prob. Norman in Origin. However nice this information is, I have yet to find a positive connection to your Williams Family to cite as an authority. rb
