a. Note:   Obituary from the Daily Tulare Register Newspaper, dated Tulare, Wednesday, June 5, 1918: "John Henry Dodson, died at 5:30 last night at the family home on west King St. The cause of his death was heart trouble. The Deceased was 60 years of age, being born April 17, 1858, in Hamblen Co, Near Morristown, TN. He was a farmer all his life. He married twice, first to Miss Mary Williams, by whom he had six children, four of them now living in CA. Six children were born to his second wife, Mrs Margaret Williams. The children of these two unions are; Mrs E.C. White, of Whitesburg, Tenn.,Mrs J.H. Harris, Waukena; R.S. Dodson, Tulare; J.A. Dodson, Tulare; Mrs T.T. Moore, Tulare; Mrs G.H. Shipley, Russellville, Tn; Haskell Dodson, now with the 42ed. baloon company at Morrison, VA.; Mrs, Annie Allison of Whitefish, Mont.,now visiting in Tulare; Raymond Dodson, Tulare, minnie Dodson, Tulare, and George Dodson, Tulare. He is survived also by a stepson, R.F. Williams, of Tulare, and a granddaughter, Mary Williams, of Tulare. Mr. Dodson came to Tulare two years ago last December. he was a member of the M.E. Church in Tenn., always lived an upright life and , was a good Husband and Father and Neighbor. The Funeral will be from the Boble undertaking parlor at 10:30 am tomorrow. Rev. F.I. Drexler, having charge of the service. Burial will be in Tulare Cemetery. "
