Note: ALBANY -- William F. Germain, Sr., 81, of Albany diedAugust 8, 1997 at St. Peter's Hospital after a long illness. Mr.Germain was born in Albany to the late Frederick and AlbinaGermain. He served in the U.S. Navy in both W.W. II and theKorean Conflict. After his military career, he became a memberof the Teamsters Union, Local #294 for 30 years, the last 15years a business agent, retiring in 1980. He served in theAlbany County Legislature for 18 years and a City Ward Leader,Albany County Democratic Committeeman for many years. He was amember of the Bucci-McTague Post, Pat Aiezza Post, and CathedralUshers. Mr. Germain was a communicant of Cathedral of ImmaculateConception Church. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59years, Antonette R. Spagnola Germain, Albany; three sons, ThomasF. Germain, Port Angeles, WA, William F. Germain, Jr., Schodack,and Paul D. Germain, Guilderland; one daughter, Laurelle M.Germain Fusaro of East Greenbush; devoted grandfather of WilliamF., III, Kelley, Brett and Nicolas; brother of Alice Sano,Ceilia De Marco, Edna Germain and Edward Germain. He is alsosurvived by several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased byMargaret Hidley, Agnes Medina and George, Frederick and FrancisGermain. Funeral sevices at the Chicorelli Funeral Home, 331Delaware Ave., Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. at Cathedralof Immaculate Conception. Interment, St. Agnes Cemetery.
